CHALLENGE

Every year, enterprise resource planning software solutions firm Epicor hosts its own industry event for partners, customers, senior staff, analysts and the media. Held over several days at a major venue in the US, the event enables Epicor to set the agenda, discuss topics and technology of direct relevance to the audience, and demonstrate its leadership and expertise.

Ensuring key media get the most from their attendance at the event, called Epicor Insights, is an important objective. The company’s comms team trusted the management of the complex international media activity to GingerPR, whose consultant Charlotte Hanson was tasked with coordinating every aspect of international media involvement and engagement.

APPROACH

Working alongside the Epicor comms team, GingerPR adopted a rigorous approach to ensure the smooth running of the Insights event from a media perspective. This included co-ordinating PR teams in seven local markets within APAC and EMEA. Activity included inviting Epicor’s key media followers, providing them with a tailored agenda of interviews, workshops, seminar sessions, dinners and opportunities to meet Epicor’s clients and senior execs.

GingerPR worked with the corporate communications team on site to set up and run the Insights press office, providing a focal point for the media and a range of resources to meet their needs. With time precious and demands coming in from all directions, GingerPR worked hard to make sure all journalistic and editorial opportunities were met, managed and capitalised on.

OUTCOME

A total of eight international media were invited to – and attended – Epicor Insights 2018, held in Nashville, and a further seven and a key influencer to Insights 2019 in Las Vegas.

For the 2019 event, 22 face-to-face media engagements / interviews were facilitated resulting in over 50 news and feature articles flied from the event, and afterwards. The international media represented publications in a number of territories important to Epicor, including Germany, China, Singapore, the UK, Hong Kong and the Middle East.
